ALWAYS
Take responsibility for your own safety.
Be positioned where you are safe and clearly visible to approaching traffic.
Plan an escape route.
Carry your BCCSA TCP card while on the job.
Remain calm, confident and in control.
NEVER
Do NOT use cell phones, headphones, or other electronic devices while controlling traffic.
Do NOT wear hoodies or clothing that could obscure your peripheral vision.
NEVER direct traffic in contradiction of existing traffic control devices, such as signs or signals.
NEVER yell, insult, argue or challenge road users.
